Assignment #3 - Repeat Pan

Hey guys, so our 3rd assignment for design class was to do a repeat pan. I have here the rough clean of the pan here. This is only the mid ground...since we had to scan it for computer class, I have it. The rest of the layers and the rough and thumbs will be posted later, once our finals are done. This pan is roughly 48.5" long! (I was curious as to how long it was :D) In animation term, it went from A to G.

Hope y'all like it!

Here's all of it put in After Effects. It actually repeats!!! I still have to clean it up...that's what the break is for!

Assignment #5 - Treadmill Run

This was a run cycle we had to do with Wendy. It was done on ones, thus its really fast. I had to lower the frames per second in order to work on it, but eventually my eye will be trained lol

Assignment #4 - Treadmill Walk

We started putting details on the character we are working with; Wendy. This was done on ones since its a treadmill walk. There were little things I needed to fix, but here she is.

Assignment #3 - Reaction/Take

This animation was based on expression changes. Basically I had her curiously looking at something, and then jumps back in fear (I guess it was gonna jump at her or somethin).

Assignment #2 - Direction Change

Our first assignment for animation class was to draw a bunch of gestures using te high speed rough method. This was a head turn / direction change animation. I didn't like my end product, but will try and make the next animation better.

Assignments Done on Harmony

This semester, we have Computer class, where we are learning how to use Toonboom Harmony. Our first assignment was the bouncing ball and then 2 expression changes. I went with the "Oooooh, Ahhh" expression lol)

Assignment #2 - 3 Point Perspective

Our second assignment is to create a 3 point establishing shot layout. So far I have a thumb approved (bottom right hand corner). Once I get the rough approved, I'll post the final.

Here's my approved rough.

Here's the rough/clean version.

Assignment #1 - Shaded Eggs

This was an assignment for our life drawing class. I'm not a shading type of guy, so this assignment was a bit tougher for me, but pleased with the result.
The darker tonal shades needed to be darker...

Assignment #1 - Box and Goofy Head Rotation

Second year of animation started and we are already stressing out with a lot of school work, but its fun (at times). Here was out first assignment in design class.

This is how I got the box to rotate.

Summer Layouts

Hey guys, yes its been a long time since my last post. I've been busy with work and I was also doing some school for the first half of the summer. The second half I attended layout classes thought by Rio. We also got to attempt 3 point, which is still in work in progress.

Enjoy!

This was my first start on our first assignment, but then after some different ideas by Rio and a couple of more fixes, I re-did aother one.

Here is the better one.

This was a pan we had to do for our last assignment.

First Year Animation Is Done!

This year was intense, yet I learned a lot, especially second semester. I would like to thank Anne Morgan, Cory Perkins, Jeff Ross, Lesley O'Reilly, Paul West and Tom Crook for teaching us. I'll try and post stuff I do during the summer and get ready for another year of animation! Have a great summer!

Final - Kid Vs. Flour

This animation was about 5 weeks long. The animation has about 445 drawings in it, which meant a lot of work and barely much rest in the last 2 weeks. There was soo much more I wanted to fix, but hadn't had the chance. Hope you enjoy it.

Assignment #5 - Flour Sack Jump

This one week assignment was given to us as a break before our final.

Assignment #4 - Superman

This assignment was not too bad except for the cape. To make it look realistic was very difficult. But after doing this assignment, I feel that my walk animation is getting a bit better, not as stiff as the first walk I did. For a two week assignment, it came out pretty decent.

Assignment #3 - Column Jump

This was a kid jumping from one column to the other, and we had to come up with a surprise ending. My first idea was him falling off the column and then after a few seconds you see him fly on screen with a balloon (surpise!), however due to the lack of time, I made him fall and die instead...

Assignment #2 - Get Up

Our next assignment was a guy getting up from a chair. The only layout they wanted was a chair, so I decided to go all out. Below you will see the reference picture used to draw the chair.

Assignment #1 - Pendulum and Bugs Bunny Walk

Here is our first assignment. We had one week to do the pendulum, and 2 weeks for the walk. However, most of us did one different walk each week, since most of us had to do tweaking on the keys, which meant the spacing changed, thus the whole animation needed to be changed. There wasn't much sleep attained on this assignment, but its done!!!
