Vehicles

The BMW is still work in progress.

Still has stuff to be fixed, but posting it to get an opinion by a friend.

Animated Birthday Gift

My friend Teresa just turned 25 today, and I thought I should do something special. I animated this, but had to work around my school assignments, so it could have been a lot better and maybe I could have animated the box jumping in or something. But I am happy with the results in the time span that I had :)

Blogger shrinks the video size, so you can't see it properly but I also animated the candles.

Assignment #4 - Head Turn

Our next assignment was to use the character model sheet of Ron Stoppable (From the Kim Possible tv show) and make him do a head turn. I did a downtown area, so the reason why he's turning his head is because he heard something, and if I could animate, I would have had a car coming behind him! I believe thats a good reason to turn your head.

Background

Personality Room

In our layout class, our midterm assignment was to come up with a living room or a bedroom layout with personality, so you could tell who lives there just by looking at it. The catch was we had to do 12+ thumbnails with different ideas, and had to get one of them approved. Tom approved this thumbnail, which is pretty much a rich person's mansion. He also suggested me to do a statue with our animation teachers head. So Cory's head is proudly shown on the rough clean version.

Enviro Class Midterm

In groups we had to come up with a room to draw. This included doing a floor plan and getting references. At the end, we all had to do a different angle of the room while keeping the look relatively the same amongst each other. That was the tough part of the assignment.

Assignment #3 - Bouncing Kid

This was our animation midterm. It was tough seeing that we went from a bouncing ball to a whole bouncing kid!!! This kid also had to wear a cape (I guess thinking that he's superman). After this assignment, I never want to see another kid jump on thier bed ever again! The background was done in our Design class.

Assignment #2 - Bouncing Ball with Tail

Okay so its been a while since I posted, but the weeks were all filled with midterm projects and what not. But hey! I'm posting now!!! So this assignment was the bouncing ball with tail in two point perspective. As usual, I always include the background since its not as clear when you see it on the video.

Enviro Class Prop Sheet

Our assignment was to make a prop sheet of an object in different views. On Monday, he will randomly give our prop sheets to other students in the class, and they have to draw a different angle based on what we drew.
Keep in mind that these had to be done freehand, so its not as good as it could have been if we used rulers and what not.

Assignment #1 - Bouncing Ball

Here is my final bouncing ball animation. The lighting on this camera is not the best, so I also included the layout I drew for this assignment.

First Line Test!?!?!

Our first assignment for Animation is to do a bouncing ball, where we have to follow the wonderful world of physics, including the types of motion; acceleration and deceleration. Once I finished all my frames, I line tested it to see what it looks like. There are a bunch of stuff I have to fix, but I'm happy I animated something for the first time!

For those who don't know, a line test is where we put all the animation frames we drew onto a software called Flipbook, which in essence does the flipping for us so we can see our drawings in motion.

Eurotrip

My friend Teresa is going to Europe this Friday. I needed a break from my Animation assignments, so I decided to draw her flyin to Europe. Now the character does not look exactly like her, which means I will have to practice my caricatures more. But the basic idea is present.

School Life Drawing

Well the semester started and I'm in first year of animation. We started off life drawing with a model.

One hour was given for this pose.

This pose was one hour and 25 minutes long.

One hour and 20 minutes long pose.

This pose took one hour and 30 minutes.

This skull was 3 classes long, which was about 4 hours in total. The point of this was to get as accurate as possible.

This foot took about 4 hours or 1 hour and 20 minutes for 3 classes. I wish I could have done more, but the teacher wanted it to be accurate, so I went oveboard. But she liked it, so its all good!

This pose was about an hour and 20 minutes.

This was an hour and 10 minutes pose.

Unfinished Layouts

This summer, I also took layout classes on saturdays. Thanks to Rio, I learned some techniques to make my layouts stronger. I started layouts, but never finished some of em. But don't worry Rio, I'll make sure the layouts in animation are complete! I got some revisions for some of them, which need to be applied. But this is what I have.

RSX

Here is another car I drew a while back, and finally got a chance to colour it.

Lil Remy

I was bored, and decided to draw me as a kid. I guess we all have a little kid in us. So here I am, with a nice Ferrari towel and a racing diaper.

WATCH OUT WORLD, HERE I COME!

Photoshopping

My friend Teresa is all about the Backstreet Boys. So I decided to photoshop her with them.

Sandy Hill Life Drawing August 20th

Since I had my summer classes at Carleton every mondays and wednesdays, I was not able to go the the wednesday Life drawing sessions. But as you can see, class is done, and I was able to go to one. This month was supposed to be hardcore drawing so that we were ready for animation, but I have been slacking. So the next few days I guess I will try and draw as much as I can. If there are further worthy drawings, I will post em here.

The first pose was 20 minutes, the rest were 30 minutes long.

Ilon's 350Z

Ilon's a business buddy of mine from Carleton. He's also a DJ at various clubs around Ottawa (http://www.ilproductions.ca). Ilon had asked me to draw his car last year, and so I did. So I drew his car before pre-animation, and I thought it was great. But after taking pre-animation, the old picture sucked! I came across the picture yesterday and decided to redraw it using the skills I learnt from pre-animation. Here is what I got. I also posted his car pic that I used as reference.

Room Layout

I was going to a few summer layout classes, and one of our assignments was to do a layout of our room. This is what it looked like. I'll try and make it even stronger, but here it is for now.

Bar Mitzvah

I am taking a class at Carleton for my business program. But I have to take an elective, so I took religion thinking it was going to be easy since I'm working full time and trying to attend some other animation classes done too. Well I was wrong, it was more work than what I bargained for. Our final project consists of a report, and a presentation which includes a poster on the theme we chose; Bar/Bat Mitzvah. So I decided instead of printing pictures, why don't I draw some instead? I drew a bar mitzvah reading the Torah, a Rabbi and a scroll that has the Kiddush from www.torahtots.com/home.htm. I had to rush it a bit, so its not the greatest, but it will do I guess.

Life Drawing August 1st

Its been a while since I did some life drawing, but I had some time to attend this past Friday a life drawing class. This pose was an hour long. I hope once my summer school finishes, I will have more time to go to the life drawing sessions, so that it wont be horrible once I start animation in less than a month!?!?
